Product Owner Associate

Product Owner Associates are also known as guardians of their products, ensuring the conceptual and technical integrity standards of the product are met and support business goals.
Responsibilities
Vary by project but may include:
- Act as a liaison between business and technology
- Apply critical thinking skills to prioritize & maintain the team’s backlog of work
- Responsible for helping to co-create user stories with Technical and UX partners via Agile methods
- Conduct Product Discovery tactics directly with customers
- Drive planning sessions to continuously refine the backlog and associated product roadmap
- Collaborate with adjacent Product Owners / Managers to ensure consistent customer experience
- Proactively seek to understand industry trends and evolving customer needs
- Enable hypothesis-driven development by quantifying expected customer and business outcomes
- Measuring the impact of implemented features and iterating based on learnings
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of technical solutions
- Manage stakeholder requests and demonstrate the ability to say “no” when a request does not align with the product roadmap and/or value proposition
- Demonstrate flexibility by working within a variety of technical and business constraints
- Partner with, and take direction from, Product Management Leadership
Qualifications
Our best Product Owner Associates possess most of the following:
- 0-5 years’ relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain/Operations, Computer Science, MIS or similar required
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification preferred, not required
- Passionate about Product & Design Thinking, and Agile Delivery Methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience working with or on an Agile team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to influence without authority
- Proven ability to deliver complex, technical projects in a highly integrated environment
- Ability to maintain a roadmap and vision; identify deliverables, milestones tasks; collect and report on progress to plan against individual project tasks as well as against the overall project
- Strong negotiation skills in order to broker win/win situations across teams
- Strong test-and-learn mindset
- Past project management experience preferred but not required
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Regularly meet with project sponsor and stakeholders to build relationship and set expectations
- Manage issues and risks from identification to resolution
- Ensure compliance with company project and/or product management policies and standards
- Must be eligible to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship
